Ken Burns
Ken Burn's is a master documentarian. I wish I had the time to show more of his work in class. They are a bit to long to show entire episodes or documentaries, but because of the nature of his edits the full length documentaries can easily be cut into small tidbits that work well for enrichment. Below is a video tribute which lists a number of his most well known documentaries.
School House Rock
Having grown up with School House Rock it is only natural that I would utilize them in the Classroom. And while I freely admit that they can be viewed as being too juvenile, my 7th graders love them and ask for them constantly. They are great short little bursts of tempo that can really effect the classroom dynamic. The kids see them as a treat, they are relative to the lecture and they do not take up a lot of class time. I have only included a few for space reasons. I also highly recommend: Elbow Room, Great American Melting Pot, Shot Heard 'Round the World, Sufferin' Till Sufferage, No More Kings, Fireworks & Mother Neccessity .
